NOUNS

-is a word used to name a person, place, thing or idea
  example : teacher, Arizona, car. love

 * Common nouns 
       - common names shared by everything of the same kind.
       - example : Sons, bird, villages, horses, country

 * Proper nouns
       - Names of particular people, animals, places or things.
       - example : Anita, Johannesburg, Asian Tourism International College, Chrismas, etc

* Collective nouns
       - Refer to group of things that are regarded as one, collection of persons, places, activities & concepts.
       - example : Congregation, jury, team, staff, audience

 * Abstaract nouns
        - Denote a quality, a feeling, an action or a state of mind (things which are intangible & cannot be counted)
        - example : Efficiency, admiration, beuty, honesty, respect


VERB
  • a word which shows action or state of being
  • every sentence must have a verb
  • Actions verbs (transitive and intransitive)
  • Non-actions verbs (be verbs and linking verbs)

ADJECTIVES
  • An adjective is a word used to modify a noun or a pronoun; it answers questions like What kind? How much? or How many? example: red apple, that book, fifty cents, two touchdowns.
  • Articles are adjectives that determine specific or generalnouns. example : a, an, the
  • Proper adjectives are formed from proper nouns. example : Italian food, European vacation

ADVERB
  • can modify a verb, an adjective, another adverb, a phrase, or a clause.
  • An adverb indicates manner, time, place, cause, or degree and answers questions such as "how", "when", "where", "how much".
  • Unlike an adjective, an adverb can be found in various places within the sentences.

PRONOUNS
  • Pronouns are words used in the place of one or more nouns (called antecedents)
           example : Manual told his aunt that he bought a new computer.
  • Personal pronouns stand for people, places, and things
           example : I, me, yours, himself, she, hers, its, ours, they, theirs

PREPOSITIONS
  • A preposition is a word used to show the relationship of a noun or pronoun to some other word in the sentence.
           example : above, before, during, for, in, near, off, to, with.

CONJUNCTIONS
  • A conjunction is a word that joins words, groups of words, or complete sentences of equal value.
  • EXAMPLE :
  1. Lucy and Ed left the door open.
  2. He is going to school, but I am going to work.
  3. He is going to school; however, I am going to work.

INTERJECTIONS
  • An interjection is a word that expresses strong emotion. Interjections can be followed by a comma or an exclamation point.
  • EXAMPLES :
  1. Wow! I never knew that.
  2. Oh, did I do that?
